The proposal to include sea cucumbers in Annex II was rejected after a secret ballot (50 in favour, 76 against, 9 abstentions).

The one for eels was also rejected, with a two-thirds majority not reached (35 for 100 against 8 abstentions). However, the inclusion of the dried sea cucumber Holothuria lesoni in Annex II was accepted by consensus.

The Conference also approved the transfer of the oceanic shark Carcharhinus longimanus from Annex II to Annex I, with 110 votes in favour, 22 against and 6 abstentions.
