Presentation of the PRTD-MALI

The Degraded Lands Restoration Project in Mali

Totally financed to the tune of CFAF 90 billion by the World Bank, the project restoration of degraded land in Mali The aim is to increase the adoption of climate-smart landscape restoration practices and access to income opportunities. The project has four components, the first being institutional support and capacity building for landscape restoration and climate resilience. The second component concerns investments in landscape restoration and community resilience to climate impacts. The third component is coordination, monitoring and evaluation.

Development goals

Increase the adoption of climate-friendly landscape restoration practices and improve the livelihoods of the population in selected municipalities.

Main expected results

  • Area of land subject to sustainable landscape management practices (CRI, Hectare [Ha])
  • Persons benefiting more from natural resources, disaggregated by sex (male/female)
  • Net greenhouse gas emissions (IRC, tonnes of CO2/year)
  • Target recipients who received the rating « Satisfied » or more for project interventions (sex/age).
