The ceremony was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, Sanitation and Sustainable Development and brought together the World Bank representative, the Directors General, university professors, the National Coordinator of PRTD-Mali and several partner institutions.
The Secretary-General of MEADD in his speech recalled that this Master's degree is an important instrument for building national capacity and building sustainable resilience to climate challenges that is part of the priorities of the Malian authorities.
For his part, the World Bank representative, Tahirou Kalam, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the commitment of his institution, which will remain engaged alongside Mali to train a new generation of specialists in Sustainable Development Engineering and Environmental Management (IDDME).
For three days, the work will lead to a concrete and consensual proposal of this Master, called to train a new generation of specialists able to respond to the climate and environmental challenges of Mali and to strengthen the resilience of the people.
