The 4th edition of the Fish Days opened on Thursday 11 December 2025 at the Palais de la Culture Amadou Hampaté Bâ, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, General of Division Abdoulaye Maiga, in the presence of several members of the Government, the diplomatic corps, the Head of Operations of the World Bank in Mali, the National Coordinator of the Degraded Land Restoration Project (PRTD-Mali) and the entire team.
This edition brought together the entire family of the fish industry, the beneficiaries of the productive alliances, and a large audience come to discover the major advances of the sector. After the salutations of use, a sketch inspired by the reality of the fish farmers benefiting from the productive alliances introduced the ceremony, before the visit of the stands where the PRTD-Mali highlighted the progress made. Over CFAF 7 billion in grants awarded last year, and already results with fish ready for sale just 3 months and 10 days.
The Prime Minister welcomed an initiative that strengthens food sovereignty, and boosts job creation with over 1,200 direct jobs and 7,000 indirect jobs registered with beneficiaries.
Today, with more than 300 business plans put in place: a broodstock bank, 17 fish shops, 15 hatcheries for fry, 10 modern outlets, 251 production sites or production with smoking, 4 processing and smoking units and one ice unit.
Participants, including several ambassadors, unanimously appreciated the results presented and the commitment of the youth and co-op beneficiaries.
Fish Days continue until December 13, offering three days of discovery, exchange and value for the fish value chain in Mali.
