As part of the project to restore degraded land, the national workshop to launch the consultation for the development of the framework for the establishment and governance of carbon markets was officially launched by the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Environment, Sanitation and Sustainable development. The event brought together the PRTD National Coordinator, representatives of technical services from various ministries, technical and financial partners, civil society, and the Environment and Sustainable Development Agency team.
For two days, from 25 to 26 February 2025, participants engage in discussions, group work and enriching exchanges to lay the foundation for an innovative mechanism to mobilize financial resources between USD 45 million and USD 125 million through certified carbon credits. A strategic step forward that promises to strengthen Mali's capacity to meet climate challenges while supporting its sustainable development.
