After two days of constructive discussions and collaborative work, the national consultation launch workshop for the development of the Carbon Market Development and Governance Framework was officially completed today. This key event, which was part of the Degraded Land Restoration Project (PRTD-Mali), marked a milestone A major step towards structuring a carbon market in line with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, with the aim of mobilizing between USD 45 million and USD 125 million through certified carbon credits.
At the closing session, the PRTD-Mali National Coordinator expressed his sincere thanks to all participants for their commitment and attendance throughout the working sessions. He also welcomed the availability of the consultants who had accompanied the initiative. In his remarks, he stressed the determination of his team to support and support this process, in particular by ensuring effective capitalization of the actions undertaken to ensure a sustainable impact.
This workshop thus marks the starting point for a structuring framework for the carbon market in Mali, a major step forward that will enable the country to strengthen its climate resilience while generating sustainable economic and environmental opportunities.
