After six months, work on the road to Mopti governorate was carried out over a distance of 2,200 m or 2 km 2 m. This route was previously narrow, barely circulable by users and the bank very degraded by erosion.
Today, this route to Mopti governorate has changed significantly, with developments such as: widening and upgrading of the roadway, laying of tar, installation of streetlights on the roadway, installation of sliders on a long part in order to prevent falls in the river, setting up of the embankments and ramps.
This work is part of sub-component 2.1 of the Degraded Land Restoration Project (PRTD-Mali), which consists of: « Restore the landscapes and ecosystem services of the Niger Interior Delta (DIN).
